Learn to Tie Trout Flies for the Farmington River & elsewhere with Don Butler-
Don has been teaching people how to tie flies for many years, and his
students number in the hundreds. Fooling wary Farmington River trout is
more satisfying and rewarding if
you learn to tie the flies yourself, plus you can tie your own special
variations that are not commercially available. This two day beginner
class covers dry flies, emergers, nymphs and streamers, and teaches you
to how to construct the go-to flies that you will use throughout the
season on the Farmington. Spinners, caddis, mayflies, pupa, parachutes,
ants, beetles and more will be covered. All materials will be provided
except for thread. Tuition is $150.00 for the two classes, on successive
Saturdays of January 5th and 12th from 10am-3pm (1/2 hour lunch
break, bring a bag lunch or eat at the deli next door). The size of the class is limited and fills up quickly, so sign
up today by calling 860-379-1952. Class is FULL now, but you can put your name on a waiting list, plus we might schedule a 2nd tying class.
