George Daniel Nymphing Workshops #1, #2 & #3 on 9/29, 10/20 & 10/21, 2018, 9am-2pm

9/29 & 10/20 classes are now FULL, but we have a 3rd one scheduled for Sunday October 21st 9am-2pm that still has openings.

George Daniel is one of the most sought-after fly fishermen in the United States. He is best known for his expert nymphing skills and books he has written. Hot off the press is his new book "Nymph Fishing: New Angles, Tactics, and Techniques", and it's a very good one, covering what he has learned in the past 6 years since he wrote "Dynamic Nymphing". He will conduct a 5 hour workshop for us (partly classroom, partly on the water) on how to be a more effective nympher- George is always experimenting & learning, so his classes evolve every year and he will cover some of the subtle nuances that separate better nymphers from average ones.

G.D. is a guide/writer/presenter nowadays, and prior to that he managed a TCO Fly Shop in State College, PA. As a teenager in central PA he was mentored by the likes of Joe Humphreys & George Harvey, and honed his skills after that as a member of Fly Fishing Team USA, competing in competitions around the world against some of the best international trout anglers. That ups your learning curve dramatically. He wrote the ultimate book on the subject, "Dynamic Nymphing", it has been a steady best seller for us, as well as his semi-recent "Strip-Set" book on streamer fishing. There are few who combine his knowledge of fly fishing & ability to teach the subject. Plus he's just a super nice guy.

Douglas Outdoors Sky 11' #3 Euro Nymphing Rod Review by Torrey

From the first time I picked up a Douglas Sky 11' #3 rod and flexed it in the store, I was immediately impressed. Rods for European nymphing are by nature long & limber, and typically bounce a bit when you cast them. The Douglas Sky rod recovered much faster than anything I had tried before, [...]
